First it was Leo and now the rumour mill is spinning up a new tale for the Clown Prince of Crime. Reports are circulating that Joaquin Phoenix is being tapped to play the Joker in the Todd Phillips standalone movie. Phoenix is best known for his roles in ‘Gladiator‘, ‘Walk the Line‘ and ‘Her‘ and if selected, he would be the 5th actor to play the role in a live action big screen film, behind Cesar Romero in ’66, Jack Nicholson in ‘89, Heath Ledger in ‘08 and Jared Leto in 2016’s Suicide Squad.

Joaquin Phoenix is in talks to play the Clown Prince of Crime in Warner Bros. and Todd Phillips’ untitled Joker movie.
