First reported in Deadline in mid-September as an Exclusive, Canadian actress Tatiana Maslany was said to be cast as the lead in the upcoming Disney+ series, She-Hulk. Even getting a warm welcome by who would have been her onscreen cousin, Mark Ruffalo.
In a recent interview with the Sudbury Star Malsany has now stated on record she is not the new She-Hulk. Technically one could argue she is splitting hairs with her response, as Maslany could be playing Jennifer Walters and not her alter-ego, She-Hulk. Much like Bill Bixby played Bruce Banner to Lou Ferrigno’s Hulk in the late 70’s The Incredible Hulk series. It is also possible, that Maslany is completely being transparent and was not cast as the lead afterall, but could be playing a supporting role.
Q: I was hoping to ask you about some of the stuff you’ve got going on too. Obviously you are the new She-Hulk, which is a pretty big deal —
A: That actually isn’t a real thing and it’s like a press release that’s gotten out of hand. It’s totally not — I’ve been connected to these things in the past and press has gotten onto it, but it’s not actually a thing, unfortunately.
Q: Seriously? I think I even saw it on the BBC, like serious news outlets.
A: Yeah, I don’t know how these things get — I don’t know, I don’t know. You know better; I have no idea. (Laughs.)

Bob Iger from Disney sat down with Matthew Belloni from The Hollywood Reporter and Franklin Armstrong Collective made a geek cheat sheet for those who may not have time to read the whole piece. In the interview Iger discusses Disney’s new streaming service, their plans for the competition and the different brands under the Disney umbrella.
Kevin Feige will oversee Marvel as a whole.
Direct Iger Quote: “It only makes sense for Marvel to be supervised by one entity. There shouldn’t be two Marvels.“
Disney will be slowing down on Star Wars output. Iger takes responsibility for “a little too much too fast”
Disney needs to be truly global in nature
Consumers are moving away from channel watching and towards a more brand loyal model
Disney streaming services will focus on quality over quantity (since they already have the quantity with their recent acquisitions)
The pivot in structure is to focus on having access to different distribution models
Disney is pulling away from licensing revenue from 3rd parties (streamers and broadcasters such as Netflix and TBS)
This will cause a ripple in the 2019 fiscal bottom line
Disney board already aware and supporting the plan, they understand long-term goals vs short-term payout
