The layoffs have begun at Disney/ABC Television Group. Announced some months ago, the percentage of cuts is lower than the industry forecasted.
Most of the cuts took place in the operational sector and with smaller part affecting production and programming.

While some may not see the importance of a Senior Vice President of Scripted Development being poached by Netflix, one being snagged from Disney’s Freeform, however, is something of note.
Disney is in the process of removing some of their content from Netflix; as they look into developing their own digital streaming service.
Netflix then pens a deal with Shonda Rhimes and Shondaland; which has been producing shows for Disney via ABC for the last few years.
